
Friends, family and everyone reading:
I would like to announce the creation of the blog “Flourish.”
Writing has long been my passion, leading me to a journalism degree from Oakland University in 2018. Every opportunity to write along the way has been cherished.
I have also taken multiple hiatuses from writing. It’s been nearly two years since I’ve written anything that was read by someone other than myself.
For those of you who don’t know, my background consists mainly of sports journalism. That’s where my focus was during college. I enjoyed it, but I quickly realized it wouldn’t be part of my immediate future.
My current job suits me well, and while it doesn’t require me to write often, I always had visions of keeping my talent alive through blogging.
When you’re born with a talent that develops into a passion, you have to find a way to utilize it in your life.
I have been waiting for the perfect time and idea to bring this thought into existence.
Well, the idea has arrived. And the time is now.
Other passions I have recently adopted include health & wellness, fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and all things pertaining to self development.
Personal growth has taken prominence in my life over the past two years. Aside from my love for sports and my job, my mind is constantly focused on finding ways to get better in these areas.
So, at the intersection of talent and passion lies the birth of Flourish.
Let’s get to the specifics. Here’s what to expect.
WHO: Yours truly. I will be writing blog posts, posting content on social media and experimenting with different ideas on how to engage readers.
WHAT: Flourish will feature a weekly blog article that covers a specific topic – ranging from health and wellness, to anxiety, to breakdowns of several life hacks. In addition to the article, other content will be posted and shared throughout the week. Stay tuned.
WHEN: Blog posts will come out every Friday. These days will be called “Flourishing Fridays.” What better way to end the week and begin your weekend? My goal is to also post daily on social media, whether it’s a quote, graphic, teaser or re-post of another account.
WHERE: All posts will be published on WordPress. Flourish has social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and eventually may expand to TikTok and YouTube for audio exclusive versions. Links to blog posts and other content will be found on these accounts, so be sure to follow them. A weekly email newsletter will be created in the near future as well.
WHY: The purpose of this blog is to highlight different ways to ‘flourish’ in your life and provide encouragement towards more efficiency and happiness. You may not deeply resonate with every post or share, but the hope is that you can use some of the things you read to grow and level up.
I recognize I am no health expert, fitness professional or therapist.
The goal here is simply to instill positivity while elaborating on valuable knowledge that can help you elevate your quality of life.
The ability to share what I’ve learned from books, podcasts, quotes, education, human interactions and life experiences will be fulfilling for me and hopefully for you too.
The more you know, the more you realize you don’t know. Feeding your brain every day with knowledge results in a healthier mind and an improved lifestyle.
